The Bharatiya Janata Party has said that it does agree with actress Kangana Ranaut tweets comparing Mumbai city to Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Kangana also said,"I am more scared of Mumbai police now than movie mafia goons" and sought protection from "either from HP government or directly from the Centre".

BJP MLA Ashish Shelar in a statement said,“We do not support what she is saying about Mumbai, Mumbaikars and Maharashtra.” The spokesperson further claimed that some political parties are trying to shift the focus and distract people from the ongoing Sushant Singh Rajput death case.        Speaking with India Today TV, Ashish Shelar said, "We do not support the statement of Kangana Ranaut on Mumbai. We are seeing how Sushant Singh Rajput's death inquiry is on and even before final findings are out, all sorts of efforts are being made to take it to some other direction by some leaders."

"We are clear in our position. Kangana Ranaut shouldn't try to teach Mumbai, Maharashtra and its people how to behave," he said.
