The letter bomb dropped by Former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh has heated up the political atmosphere in the state. MPs from BJP and other parties have demanded the imposition of presidential rule in Maharashtra.

The BJP has taken an aggressive stance, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Along with BJP, RPI, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and MNS have also demanded a detailed investigation in the allegations made by Parambir Singh letter against the Maharashtra Home Minister.

Other political parties, including the BJP, have called for direct presidential rule. Also, the BJP has demanded that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray should make Anil Deshmukh resign and investigate him.

BJP leader and MP Narayan Rane has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

We demand that the Governor should inform the President if the state government is not functioning as per the constitution. We are going to meet the governor. BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar has clarified that he will demand the governor to inform the president about the state.

Singh on Saturday alleged that Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had indulged in "malpractices" and asked suspended API Sachin Waze to collect Rs 100 crore every month.

In the letter, Singh, who has now been posted as Commandant General of Home Guards, also said that he has been "made a scapegoat to divert attention from the actual wrongdoers".
