The investigation into the death of businessman Mansukh Hiren is almost complete. An official statement from the state anti-terrorism squad could be issued soon.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh held a meeting with state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Jai Jeet Singh at his residence on Monday. A phone conversation between Mansukh Hiren and his brother Vinod has surfaced when the ATS investigation is almost complete.
The ATS on Sunday arrested a convicted cop, out on parole and a bookie for the alleged murder of Mansukh Hiran whose car was found laden with explosives near industrialist Mukesh Amb's residence on February 25.
On February 25, a Scorpio laden with explosives near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence on February 25. This Scorpio was owned by Mansukh Hiren. Then on February 27, Mansukh Hiren and his brother Vinod had a phone conversation. The recording of this conversation is with ATS and NIA. Many important things have emerged from this dialogue. Vinod: Did you sleep? What happened?
Mansukh: Now we don't have to go for any statement. Everything is done. Vinod: What did you write in the statement? Did you mention that Vaze was using the Scorpio?
Mansukh: No, Did not mention that.
Vinod: Why not?
Mansukh: Because Sachin Vaze had asked me not to mention anywhere that he was using the Scorpio.
Vinod: You shouldn't have said this. This will not create any trouble for you?
Mansukh: Nothing will happen, this matter is with Saheb (Sachin Vaze).
Vinod: The ATS team will also ask you for information during the inquiry.
Mansukh- Saheb (Sachin Vaze) has all the papers. Saheb is the chief. Nothing will happen in future.The tape transcript in question makes clear that Mansukh Hiren was concealing information at the behest of Sachin Vaze just two days after the Scorpio car in question was discovered parked near the Ambani residence packed with Gelatin sticks.
