Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has demanded an inquiry into a property transactions that took place between Rajbhushan Dixit, Director, Sterling Biotech and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.

The Congress leader is referring to the property bought by the Thackerays to build Matoshree 2 — his dream house in the Kalanagar neighbourhood.

Nirupam demanded that an ED and CBI inquiry into the property transactions should be conducted because  Rajbhushan Dixit got a deal of only Rs 5.8 crore for 10,000 square feet area which is located in Kalanagar, the building is visible from Bandra Kurla Complex road. The purchase of the property was much less than the market price of Mumbai. He also claimed that a large amount of cash transaction was also done in this property deal. The whole property deal should scrutinzed by the CBI and ED. Matoshree 2: The property originally belonging to artist KK Hebbar – was passed on to his wife after his death, and subsequently to their children. In 2007, a Malad-based firm controlled by Rajbhushan Dixit and Jagbhushan Dixit, Platinum Infrastructure purchased the land from the siblings. In January 2016, it sought permission from the suburban collector to transfer the plot, which was leased by the state to Kalanagar CHS. The Thackerays then sought permission from the CHS to acquire and redevelop the plot.
