Amitabh Bachchan recently donated two 'Class-I' type state-of-the-art intensive ventilators to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Sion Hospital. In addition, monitors, CRM image intensifiers, infusion pumps and other equipment worth around Rs 52 crore were donated to the hospital. Both ventilators have been activated in the surgical department of Sion Hospital. These state-of-the-art ventilators have effectively treated about 30 needy patients in the last few days. Oxygen can be given to patients with low oxygen levels or who are having difficulty breathing.

These ventilators provide up to one hundred percent oxygen to the needy patients. There is also a system to increase or decrease the oxygen pressure as required. It also has the facility to deliver oxygen directly to the lungs through a tube. Apart from this, oxygen can be given through 'non-invasive mask' method, said the superintendent of Sion Hospital, Dr. Presented by Mohan Joshi.
