Amid the COVID-19 surge, students from Class 1 to Class 8 in Maharashtra will be promoted to the next class without any examination, state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad announced on Saturday. However, the decision regarding students of classes 9 and 11 will soon be taken.

However, due to strict restrictions imposed by the government in the state, the question of 10th and 12th standard examinations arises and it has created panic among e parents as well as the students.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray has demanded to pass all the students without taking their exams. Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad clarified that the 10th and 12th examinations in Maharashtra will be held offline. The issue has also been raised in the Lok Sabha on behalf of the Shiv Sena. Sena demanded in the Lok Sabha that all 10th and 12th class students who take the exams offline in April should be vaccinated against corona.

However, the academic year of 10th and 12th class students has been wasted. Therefore, this year all these students should be declared pass and must be admitted to next class, said MNS president Raj Thackeray in a zoom meeting.

Schools in the state are closed, but schools continue to charge fees from students. Now 10th and 12th exams are being held, but students should be promoted without taking these exams.Because, it is important to understand their mental state as they cannot write an exam in the middle of the pandemic. Therefore, I am requesting the state government to promote the students of class X and XII as they have promoted the Class 1 to Class 8 students, ”Raj said at a press conference.
