COVID-19: Pune’s Dagdusheth Ganpati to remain closed on 'Angarki Chaturthi'

The Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganpati Trust has decided to close the temple on Angarki Chaturthi i.e. on March 2 as a precaution due to the surge in coronavirus cases in the state.

Only in the presence of priests religious programme will be held in the temple, said Ashok Godse, president of the trust.

About 3 to 4 lakh devotees from the city and suburbs visit the temple on Angarki Chaturthi every year. The temple will be closed on Tuesday as a precaution to avoid crowding of people amid surge in covid cases. Devotees will not be allowed to enter the temple on Chaturthi day.

The Trust has made it possible for devotees to perform abhishek arrangements and other poojas online on other days including Angarki Day. If the devotees register online, they can perform religious rites on their behalf through Guruji. Register at https://seva.dagdushethganpati.com/fasttrack.
