The fourth phase of corona vaccination in the country will start from May 1. States do not have vaccines available for people between the ages of 18 and 44. As a result, even after registering on the Co-win app yesterday, the vaccination slot was showing only 45+.The Maharashtra Government has announced to provide free COVID-19 vaccination to all citizens aged between 18-44 years to combat the pandemic. However, there is a shortage of vaccine in Maharashtra at present.

Therefore, there are many difficulties in vaccinating citizens above 45 years of age.Against this backdrop, the state government has taken an important decision.

From now on, the stock of vaccines received from the central government will be used only at government hospitals and vaccination centers. These vaccines will not be stored in private hospitals. The Thackeray government has decided not to supply stocks of vaccines to private hospitals as there is a shortage of vaccines in the state.

Therefore, private hospitals will have to purchase stocks of vaccines directly from vaccine manufacturers. Such information has been given to private hospitals by the state government. The implementation of this decision will start from tomorrow. In addition, the state government is likely to take back additional stocks of corona vaccines held by private hospitals.

From May 1, citizens in the age group of 18 to 44 years will not be vaccinated. Steps are now being taken to ensure that the state government has adequate stocks of corona vaccines. That is why the Thackeray government has decided to use the stock of corona vaccines coming from the central government only in government hospitals and vaccination centers.
