Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that he is visiting the cyclone-hit area not to respond to the opposition's criticism but to provide relief to the people of Konkan. The Chief Minister was asked when he would announce the package for the cyclone-hit areas.

"I do not believe in the package, but everyone would be provided help," he said. He was talking to reporters after holding a review meeting in Ratnagiri.

“I have asked that the panchnama (assessment) of horticulture and agriculture losses be completed in two days. After the completion of the procedure and getting an idea of the extent of the damage, a decision on the financial aid will be taken,” the Chief Minister said. "I have not come for a photo session, the government will decide soon on aid to be offered to affected people," Thackeray added. CM Thackeray arrived at Ratnagiri in the morning and held meetings with the district authorities to take stock of the damages caused by the cyclone.
