Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya said on Sunday that he received death threat calls from six Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders for speaking out against Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde over the alleged rape charges.

In a tweet on Sunday, Kirit Somaiya said that NCP leaders threatened to shoot him if he speaks against Dhananjay Munde.

Kirit Somaiya said, "'Will shoot you if you speak against Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde'. Six NCP officials have threatened me. We are not afraid of such threats, Dhananjay Munde will have to resign."

Somaiya tweeted that all those who have threatened to kill him. He mentioned the names in his tweet and said they are all NCP office bearers. The names include Mahesh Gite, Jayakant Rakh, Akshay Tidke, Ram Doiphode, Ramesh Nagargoje. The BJP leader also demanded Election Commission to take action against Dhananjay Munde.
