A shocking CCTV footage from a housing society in Maharashtra’s Palghar district shows a stray dog attacking two women residents, including an elderly woman. The incident occurred within the society premises on Thursday, April 3.
In the viral video, which is around one minute long, a woman in a yellow dress is seen entering the premises and closing the main gate behind her. Without any provocation, the stray dog suddenly lunges at her, grabs her leg, and begins biting her.

An elderly woman seated on a chair nearby rushed to help, using a plastic chair. In the attempt, she tripped and fell to the ground. The dog then turned its attention to her, dragging and biting her as well. Another woman and a man were seen rushing in to help. They threw a chair and slippers at the dog to drive it away and rescue the elderly woman from its grip.
Earlier in March, a 37-year-old woman scientist suffered multiple injuries and had to undergo nose surgery after two pet dogs attacked her in Mumbai's Powai area. The dogs are a pitbull and a Doberman, which were owned by a resident living in the same society where the incident took place.
