Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday attended the Dussehra celebrations in Mumbai and targeted the Eknath Shinde camp of the party.Thackeray compared it with the regime of General Dyer adding they lathi-charged Marathi people.

"I was also chief minister but never ordered lathi-charge on Marathas... police does not do anything on its own... which General Dyer had given the order? If the traitors have the courage then give justice to Marathas..." Uddhav Thackeray asked."The issue of Maratha reservation will be solved in Lok Sabha only... the House has the authority...." he said. "You (CM Shinde) can target me but I have no status with you," Uddhav mentioned.Lashing out at the BJP, Uddhav Thackeray said, "...they had no role in the freedom struggle... wherever they go, BJP destroys... Manoj Jarange, beware of BJP.

The Shiv Sena Dussehra rally has always been a mega event. During the late Bal Thackeray’s time, it was a show of power, an evening of entertainment and a validation that the Shiv Sena owned Mumbai. This year for the first time in the Sena’s 56-year-old history there were two Dussehra rallies, with Uddhav Thackeray addressing one and the rebel Sainik and now Chief Minister Eknath Shinde addressing the other.
