Maharashtra has announced a lockdown in the state in order to curb the spread of Coronavirus Pandemic. Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country as it is reporting the highest number of cases across the country.

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday night issued fresh  guidelines in the state due to surge in the cases of coronavirus disease.  The state government has also issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the lockdown.

Maharashtra police on Friday reintroduced the e-pass system for inter-state and inter-district travel in "extreme emergency" situations. The e-pass is only meant for the personal use of citizens to facilitate their journey in an emergency. You can apply for the e-pass by visiting this website https://covid19.mhpolice.in/

Maharashtra police on Friday said, for interstate and inter-district emergency travel, you can apply for an E-Pass at http://covid19.mhpolice.in. You can also walk in to your nearest Police Station for assistance. We urge all citizens to apply for an E-Pass only in the case of extreme emergencies."

Maharashtra BJP vice president Chitra Wagh on Friday slammed the Maharashtra government over the new rules introduced for inter-state and inter-district travel.

Wagh said,"What's this new thing now? It was said that there will be no e-pass etc. in the new lockdown rules till yesterday afternoon. Now all of a sudden this information will confuse more people. Start a regular helpline that will help people. There are 1760 different speakers in the state which has caused a lot of confusion."
