An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter scale took place near Nashik in Maharashtra on Tuesday.

According to the data provided by the National Centre for Seismology, the quake occurred at 02:54 am today, 88 km west of Nashik.

No loss of life or damage to property has been reported.
