Maharashtra's gram panchayat elections official results announcement will be done today. Voting for the 12,711 gram panchayats in 34 districts across the state took place on Friday on January 15. 

Maharashtra's ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi is ahead of the BJP in the gram panchayat elections.

The victory procession of a candidate from Palu Gram Panchayat in Pune has caught everone's attention. Because, instead of the workers here, it was candidate's wife who carried him on her shoulders.

In Palu Gram Panchayat of Pune District, Jakhmata Devi Gram Vikas Parivartan Panel defeated Jakhmata Devi Gram Vikas Panel and won 6 out of 7 seats. Women played a major role in this resounding success. So while celebrating the victory, the wife of the winning candidate from the village celebrated her husband's victory.

Carrying her husband Santosh on her shoulders, wife Renuka marched in the village with joy. In Palu Gram Panchayat, Santosh Shankar Gurav defeated the opposition candidate by getting 221 votes. Photos of the enthusiastic couple have gone viral in the village and on social media. Many have praised the couple's enthusiasm for politics.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, victorious rallies and processions were banned by the administration.
