Gujarat's 4th corona victim: Woman from Ahmedabad

Within a week of a 67-year-old male from Surat succumbing to coronavirus last Sunday, the deadly virus claimed one more life in the state on Saturday after an Ahmedabad woman died due to coronavirus, taking the total death toll to four. The virus has infected another 50 people.

Gandhinagar, March 28 Within a week of a 67-year-old male from Surat succumbing to coronavirus last Sunday, the deadly virus claimed one more life in the state on Saturday after an Ahmedabad woman died due to coronavirus, taking the total death toll to four. The virus has infected another 50 people.

The woman (46) didn't have any travel history, thus she was infected locally, health officials said. She was admitted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital on March 26. She was suffering from hypertension and diabetes and was on ventilator.

Gujarat also recorded six new positive cases on Saturday taking the total tally to 54, including four deaths. Out of the 54 cases, 18 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, whereas Vadodara has reported 9 cases, Rajkot and Gandhinagar 8 each. This is followed by Surat with seven cases and one each in Bhavnagar, Mahesana and Kutch.

Now Gujarat is number one in India along with Maharashtra with 4 deaths. What is more shocking is that while Maharashtra has 162 COVID-19 positive cases, while Gujarat has only 54.
