Nationalist Congress Party Supriya Sule has reacted over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being roughed up by police on his way to Hathras, at Yamuna Expressway on Thursday. She also reacted to Hathras gang rape incident.

Sule said,"Three rape cases in UP came to the fore in two days. State's Home Minister and CM haven't spoken anything. I request PM that there should be a detailed inquiry. If Yogi government is unable to work for women safety in the state, then they should resign."

She further said,"I think UP government wants to hide something. What happened with Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi & Congress workers, and the kind of statements by DM & others, prove that UP government wants to hide something: Supriya Sule, NCP on #Hathras incident."

On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Police personnel pushed former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on the ground near the Yamuna Expressway and arrested him along with his sister and party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, while they were walking towards Hathras to meet the family of the rape victim.

A 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly assaulted by a group of men on September 14 while she was working in the fields with her family. The victim died in Safdarjung Hospital on Tuesday.
