An important meeting of the leaders of the Mahavikas Aghadi government will be held today regarding the farm laws, but this issue will not be resolved in one meeting. This is my personal opinion and not the party's role, said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Ajit Pawar said that farmers are agitating in the country, the Supreme Court has observed that the situation warrants an urgent resolution measures through negotiations, in the backdrop of the agitating farmers at the Delhi borders not appearing to be in a mood to talk. The top court apprehended that the protest could become a national issue and emphasized for reaching a solution via negotiations through setting up a committee.

The farmer's protest has been supported by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) party consisting of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress.Farmers have been protesting on different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three newly enacted farm laws -- Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
