On Thursday, the price of petrol in Mumbai touched Rs 86.7 a litre and diesel went up to Rs 78.34 a litre. This was for as 19th day in a row that fuel prices saw no downward trend in India.

Maharashtra Cabinet Minister NCP leader Jitendra Awhad, who has consistently targeted the Modi government, has now turned his attention towards Modi supporters. The Cabinet Minister has targetted Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for his silence on the rising fuel price. Akshay Kumar was quite active with his tweets during the UPA regime when fuel price hikes had pinched the pocket of the common man.

In 2011, during Manmohan Singh's government, Akshay Kumar had tweeted about fuel price hike,"Couldn't even get to my house at nite for all of Mumbai was queuing up for petrol before the prices rocketed again.

Jitendra Awhad tweeted,"R u not active on Twitter...have u stopped using cars.Dnt u read news paper Akshay Kumar. There has been a steep Petrol Diesel Price Hike just for Ur information". Awhad has indirectly expressed that Akshay, who spoke on fuel price hike nine years ago, why is he is quite now.
