Eight people were killed, and others were injured in a head-on collision between a cement mixer truck and a car on Kalyan–Ahilyanagar Highway, National Highway 61 (NH-61), on Monday morning, April 13. After receiving the information, police, along with locals, transported the injured people to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to initial information, the accident took place on the Ahilyanagar–Kalyan Highway. A total of nine people were travelling in the eco-car at the time of the accident. Eight people died on the spot, while one is receiving treatment at the hospital.
A huge traffic jam has been reported on the highway after the accident near the Rayta Bridge near Titwala and Kalyan. The car was travelling to Murbad from Kalyan and struck the mixer truck head-on.
