Actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, have reportedly sought time until November 15 to appear before the Mumbai Police. The sisters received summons to present themselves at the Bandra police station by 26-27 October, for investigation following an FIR lodged against them with sedition charges included. Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer, Advocate Rizwan Siddiqui, tweeted that his clients Kangana and Rangoli will not be appearing before the Mumbai Police on October 26 and 27 due to their brother’s wedding preparations and ongoing functions in their hometown. A few days ago, Kangana Ranaut posted a video from her brother Aksht’s pre-wedding festivities, and her brother is all set to tie the knot soon.

The lawyer also tweeted that they have responded to the summons and have sought time until November 15.“My clients Ms. Kangana Ranaut & Ms. Rangoli Chandel will not be attending the Police Station on 26th & 27th because of Wedding preparations & on going functions in their hometown concerning their younger brother. I have responded to the summoms & sought time after 15th of Nov,” read the tweet. The sisters were directed to appear before the Bandra Police, five days after the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate JY Ghule took cognisance of Bollywood casting director and fitness trainer, Munawwarali Sahil Sayyed's complaint and ordered an FIR to be registered against the siblings. "Among the charges include Indian Penal Code Sec. 124-A (sedition)...besides spreading communal hatred and falsehoods. The police have also recorded the statement of the complainant, Munawwarali Sahil A Sayyed today in this connection," Sayyed's lawyer Ravish Zamindar said in a statement to IANS.
