Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission on Wednesday summoned BMC Municipal Commissioner IS Chahal to appear before it in connection with a complaint received regarding demolition of property belonging to actress Kangana Ranaut

MHRC has asked Chahal to make an appearance before them on January 20 next year at 11am . The Bombay High Court had previously set aside the demolition order of the BMC and called it 'malicious.'

An advocate had filed a petition with the MHRC on the demolition controversy.

A BMC team had gone and razed portions of Kangana's bungalow on September 9 which sparked of a massive political furore after which she moved the Bombay HC and challenged the civic body's move, terming it as a vendetta.

Kangana Ranaut had on December 2 filed a caveat in the Supreme Court, requesting that no order be passed without hearing arguments from her side.
