On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Maharashtra state government has announced a special gift for women beneficiaries. The February installment of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will be disbursed on March 8, ahead of schedule, while the March installment will be released by the end of the month, following the conclusion of the budget session, said Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare at Vidhan Bhavan.

Meanwhile, the opposition has raised concerns about the continuation of the scheme, citing economic pressures that might lead to its discontinuation. However, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in a press conference ahead of the session, firmly assured that no public welfare scheme, including the Ladki Bahin Yojana, will be discontinued.
