Due to land slide between Khandala and Lonavla, the train traffic from Pune to Mumbai has stopped. The work of removing the boulders has been completed and still the train is running one hour late. The railway administration has informed that the railway service will be restored soon.
A boulders had collapsed on the Pune-Mumbai railway. The incident took place between Monkeyhill and Thakurwadi in the middle of the night. Due to landslide, the train service to Mumbai was stopped. As the traffic on the Up Line was diverted to the Middle Line, the train services were running smoothly. But it will take a long time to reach the up line pre position. Currently the train is running late.
As soon as the information about the collapse of the boulders came, the railway officials, employees and all the systems immediately reached the spot. After that, the work of removing the boulders was started. At present, the work of removing the boulders has been completed and the railway administration has assured that the railway traffic will be smooth soon.
Railway trains going from Pune towards Mumbai have been stopped at Khandala, Lonavla and various other railway stations. Meanwhile, trains coming from Mumbai towards Pune have been stopped at Karjat railway station. Although the work of removing the boulders has been completed, the traffic has not yet returned to normal. The railway administration has informed that it will take some more time for traffic to return to normal.
