Mumbai, Maharashtra (March 19, 2025): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has hinted that he has no plans to enter Delhi’s politics. During an interview with former minister Jayant Patil at the 'Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year 2025 Awards' ceremony, Fadnavis candidly answered several questions and shared his thoughts on his political future.

Fadnavis expressed his preference for the environment in Mumbai over Delhi, saying he enjoys the atmosphere in the city. "I have been given the responsibility of Maharashtra, and I am trying my best to fulfill it," he said.

During the interview, Patil asked about the possible extension of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure, as Modi will complete 75 years soon. He also questioned where Fadnavis sees himself in comparison to other leaders like Modi, Amit Shah, and Yogi Adityanath.

Fadnavis responded directly, saying he is not focused on Delhi. "In 2029, Narendra Modi should remain the Prime Minister. This is our wish and we will try to make it happen," he said. Fadnavis also acknowledged that although Modi has set a 75-year age limit, he believes it may not be universally accepted. He praised Modi's physical fitness and leadership on the international stage, stressing that the party wants Modi to continue as Prime Minister in 2029. "We will try to push for that," he added.

Speaking on his own role, Fadnavis said that he is a party worker who fits in wherever he is placed. "Currently, the party has entrusted me with Maharashtra's responsibilities. I will try my best to fulfill them," he said.

On a lighter note, Fadnavis shared his satisfaction with being in Mumbai. "I am very happy in Mumbai. The atmosphere here is much better than in Delhi. In Mumbai, I have friends like you, which I don’t have in Delhi. So, I will stay in Mumbai," he clarified.
