The 11th edition of Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards 2025 ceremony kicked off at Raj Bhavan with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as the special guest, joined by several other distinguished personalities. One of the key figures at the event was Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv, who took the stage alongside Mr. Rishi Darda, Joint Managing Director and Editorial Director of Lokmat Media. During their conversation, Bajaj addressed various topics, including the modern approach to work hours and employee rewards.
When asked about the company’s stance on working hours, Bajaj shared a progressive viewpoint, highlighting that the focus should be on results rather than rigid schedules. He explained, “We don’t control the working hours of our employees. What matters is meeting targets and achieving goals. If employees fulfill their objectives on time, they are rewarded with bonuses and other incentives based on their performance. It’s about outcomes, not the number of hours worked.”

Bajaj’s comments underscored a more flexible, performance-driven work culture, where employees are empowered to manage their time, as long as they deliver results. In addition to discussing work culture, Bajaj also shared updates about Bajaj Finserv’s recent move to acquire a 26% stake in Bajaj Allianz Life and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance from Allianz. This transaction will give Bajaj Finserv and its promoters 100% ownership of both companies. Bajaj assured that despite this change, there would be no shifts in leadership at either of the insurance companies. The Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions across a variety of fields, including business, arts, politics, science, and sports, celebrating their significant impact on Maharashtra and society as a whole.
