After being suspended for almost ten months since the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown last year, the local train services in Mumbai have been resumed for the public. Railway authorities have classified three-time slots for the general public - from the first service of the day to 7 am, 12 pm to 4 pm and 9 pm to the end of the day.

However commuters are not very happy with the time slots alloted by the Railways. Suresh Kakani, Additional Commissioner, Mumbai Municipal Corporation, has given important information regarding the schedule of the locals."It's been a week since Mumbai's local service resumed for the general public. Even after that, there has been no increase in the number of COVID-19 patients. This is a very good thing, he said while talking to ABP Mazha in Mumbai. State's health minister Rajesh Tope had said, "Necessary changes will be made in the schedule of local services soon as per the interest and need of the people". Suresh Kakani has also said that a positive decision will be taken soon that will be beneficial for the general public.

The operations of Mumbai local train services were shut for normal passengers for almost ten months since the beginning of the lockdown in wake of COVID-19.
