Acharya Tushar Bhosale, head of BJP's Maharashtra spiritual front met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and demanded opening of temples in the state. He handed over a letter to the governor demanding opening of temples. Tushar Bhosale has given a clear warning to the Thackeray government after the governor's visit that if the Thackeray government does not take a decision regarding reopening of temples by November 1, they were prepared to break locks at the temples if need be.

Temples in the state have been closed for the last seven months. While all other things have been started. Earlier, we staged a bell-ringing agitation across the state demanding opening of temples. But the Thackeray government did not take notice. One of the representatives said that they were prepared to break locks at the Temples if need be and accused CM Uddhav over 'Hindutva', saying 'It's not soft- or hard- Hindutva, it's no-Hindutva'.

As per sources, priests have also sought a meeting with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the matter but they have not received any response yet. Over the past several weeks, sadhus have staged protests against the closure of temples in Maharashtra despite the Central government had eased the lockdown restrictions that were imposed to curb the Coronavirus.
