The Beed police have formed a five-member team to investigate the Mahadev Munde murder. The move comes after Munde’s wife, Gyaneshwari Munde had recently met district police officials and requested an SIT or CID probe.

Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat appointed the team to speed up the investigation. The team includes one police inspector and four constables. Santosh Sable, who previously worked with the Local Crime Branch, will lead the probe.

Mahadev Munde was murdered 15 months ago in front of the Parli tehsil office. Despite repeated requests for action, the accused remain at large. Several officers have handled the case, but no breakthrough has been made.

Munde’s family had warned of a hunger strike if their demand for a high-level investigation was not met. The formation of this special team is expected to accelerate the case and bring justice to the victim’s family.
