Maharashtra: 557 Shramik special trains successfully operated to send migrants home

Shivaji Sutar, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway informed that on Maharashtra Government's request, Railways has run 557 Shramik Special trains carrying over 7.70 lakh people so far. Railways' nodal officer & nodal officer of Maharashtra Govt are in constant touch for planning the trains. 

As of now, we have the demand of 46 trains from Maharashtra Government out of which 5 trains couldn't be run as they were to go to cyclone Amphan affected West Bengal & Odisha. Rest 41 trains have been notified today, said Shivaji Sutar, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway. 

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday informed that Railways has successfully operated over 3,000 Shramik special trains to send migrant workers stranded in different parts of the country to their home states.
