Maharashtra: A tragic accident occurred around 1:15 AM on Monday, March 23, 2026, midnight at Karkhel Khurd on Beed-Ahilyanagar State Highway. The incident took place when a private passenger bus overtook a container truck that was traveling from Pune to Latur, carrying a load of iron rods; this caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in the container overturning.
The container veered toward the roadside houses, finally stopping after crashing into verandas, metal sheets, and trees. Residents were asleep inside. The families were fortunate to escape unharmed.

Upon receiving the report, Constables Haribhau Bangar, Shivdas Kedar, and Amol Shirsath from the Ambhora Police Station arrived at the scene. The deceased, Dnyandev Garje, a resident of Limbodi in Ashti Taluka, was a commercial goods transport driver.
Police conducted a spot inspection, and local residents reported that such accidents are increasingly common due to speeding on the highway
