Political leaders in the state of Maharashtra are gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections, which will be held in October this year. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray announced the upcoming assembly polls on Monday, August 5.
Thackeray fielded Bala Nandgaonkar from Mumbai's Shivadi Assembly constituency and Dilip Dhotre to contest from Pandharpur. Raj Thackeray has decided not to contest elections with any alliance.
Thackeray has challenged the financial feasibility of the Mahayuti alliance's plans. He attacked Maharashtra government recent schemes announced in the recent budget, said Eknath Shinde-led government do not have enough funds to repair potholes on roads, how. "How will they find the money for 'Laadli Behen' and 'Laadla Bhai?" he said.
He said there is an internal conflict with the parties between the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). "If both Laadla bhai and Behen were happy together, then the party wouldn't have split," Thackeray criticised Ajit Pawar over the rift in the Pawar family.
"One could not make out which MLA is in which party. In upcoming polls, there will be a rumble fight amongst these parties," Thackeray further stated.
