Nationalist Congress Party MLA Rohit Pawar on Monday cautioned that citizens across Maharashtra would not stay quiet if the inquiry into the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar proves to be merely symbolic. Addressing the media at Vidhan Bhavan, he asserted that the investigation must genuinely uncover the facts rather than remain a formality. He remarked that if the truth is suppressed, the “Marathi Manoos” would demonstrate collective resolve and demand accountability. Pawar stressed that public patience is limited and warned authorities against taking the matter lightly, emphasizing that transparency and justice are essential to maintain people’s trust in the system.

Rohit Pawar also raised doubts about the headway achieved in the month following the aircraft crash. Although the matter has been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation, he questioned what substantial measures have been undertaken so far. He asked whether CCTV recordings had been secured, whether a thorough criminal probe had commenced, and what concrete findings had emerged beyond two initial reports. Highlighting concerns about delays, he pointed out that the CBI is already burdened with numerous pending cases. According to him, investigators should declare a definite timeline to ensure the probe does not drag on indefinitely.

The NCP leader further claimed that he holds documentary material indicating links between influential individuals and the aviation firm VSR. He announced plans to write to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking time to personally hand over the relevant papers. Additionally, he stated that communications have been sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, though he alleged that critical details remain undisclosed. Pawar also asserted that he has information regarding the condition and reported damage to the aircraft’s Black Box, suggesting that important technical aspects need fuller public clarification.

Offering a heartfelt tribute, Rohit Pawar remembered Ajit Pawar as a punctual, disciplined, and impeccably presented leader who treated legislative responsibilities with utmost seriousness. He recalled that Ajit Pawar was typically among the earliest to reach Assembly proceedings and often stayed until the very end, reflecting his commitment to public service. Concluding his remarks, he insisted that the people of Maharashtra have a right to know exactly what occurred and pledged to persist in demanding clarity. Until the complete truth emerges, he said, he will continue to press the issue at every possible forum.
