Maharashtra Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has been issued notice by the Income Tax Department. Chavan has been asked to provide details of his assets for the last 10 years. Chavan will have to reply to the notice within 21 days. He was issued notice by the Income Tax Department on Diwali. He informed the media about this on Wednesday today. The notice has to be replied within 21 days and he has been asked to be present in person. "We are taking appropriate action in that regard", Chavan clarified. This notice is part of the regular procedure of the Income Tax Department. Chavan further said that a detailed reply will be sent to this notice.Chavan also targeted the BJP government at the Centre. Expressing his strong views on the working of the BJP, Chavan said, "The BJP has a well-planned strategy on how to use power and for whom. Everything starts accordingly. A similar notice was issued to Sharad Pawar a few days back and now I have been sent a notice. I will give a proper explanation on that."
