Pune: In un-expected turn of events a thief stole nine tolas of gold ornaments worth about four and a half lakh rupees and ten thousand rupees in cash from an ST bus, worth Rs 4 lakh 65 thousand, on Friday, the 27th, in the Pune-Kurundwad ST. A case has been registered in this regard at the Karad city police station and further investigation is being carried out by the police.
More information about this is that Suvarna Krishna Sawant had gone to her son in Pune for her granddaughter's birthday. While returning from celebrating her birthday, she boarded the Mumbai-Kurundwad ST with her husband in Pune at around 12:30 pm on Friday. At that time, the purse she was carrying contained nine tolas of gold ornaments and ten thousand rupees.
After traveling some distance, she started falling asleep. Therefore, she gave the purse containing the gold ornaments and cash to her husband. The husband kept the purse in the upper compartment of the ST bus. After that, when they reached the Kolhapur checkpoint in Karad, they searched for the money in the purse to buy a bottle of water, but they did not find it. Also, the gold ornaments and cash kept there were not found.

They informed the ST driver and conductor about this and searched the ST, but the ornaments and cash were not found. After that, they have filed a complaint at the Karad City Police Station and the police are conducting further investigation.
