Buldhana, Maharashtra (April 11, 2025):  Maharashtra is experiencing extreme heat as temperatures continue to rise across the state. Several districts have recorded temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius. Amid the ongoing heatwave, the state has reported its first heatstroke-related death. An 11-year-old boy from Buldhana district has died due to heatstroke. According to the regional media reports, the boy, identified as Sanskar Sonatakke, was a class sixth student at Sant Gajanan Maharaj Dyanpeeth in Shegaon. He fell ill due to the extreme heat, and his condition worsened. His family was taking him to a hospital in Akola when he died on the way.

For the past few days, Maharashtra has experienced a mix of unseasonal rain in some areas and severe heat in others. However, the current rise in temperatures has intensified concerns. Several districts, including Jalgaon and Bhusawal, are witnessing a heatwave. Bhusawal taluka has recorded a high of 45 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature reported in the state so far.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that the heatwave will continue for the next two to three days. Authorities have advised residents to take precautions and limit outdoor activities to avoid health risks.
