The match was held between Nanded's Shivraj Rakshe and Pune’s Pruthviraj Mohol. A video showed Raksha grabbing the referee’s collar and kicking him.

Mohol took just a few moments to overpower Rakshe, but he refused to accept the loss. Rakshe opposed the referee's decision and sent his associates to speak with the officials. A verbal altercation followed between the referee and Rakshe's team. He then joined the confrontation and, unable to control his anger, grabbed the referee's collar and kicked him. Rakshe denied the loss, claiming he had not been pinned. "I had not backed down," Rakshe said, denying the defeat.
