A concerning trend of hair loss that has persisted for three months has put residents of about fifteen villages in Shegaon taluka, Buldana district, in a state of anxiety. What started out as an alarming situation with abrupt hair loss has gotten worse, and now the locals are worried about a new issue: fingernail loss. Their anxiety has escalated as a result, and they are now wondering what caused it. According to reports, this problem is not limited to Shegaon because others in Bondgaon are also losing their fingernails after their hair falls out, which exacerbates the general anxiety in the area.

Villagers are unhappy about the Indian Council of Medical Research's (ICMR) inaction after two months. Given the high nitrate levels discovered, many people believe that the hair loss is related to contamination of the water. Amol Gite, the district health officer, has confirmed that the water is unsafe to drink, pointing out that the dangerously high nitrate levels of 54% are significantly more than the permissible limit of 10%. Furthermore, the water's salt content, which was measured at 2100 instead of the typical amount of 110, is noticeably higher. With more than 70 Bondgaon and Khatkhed residents experiencing baldness and hair loss, anxiety is only growing as the health hazards posed by the area's poisonous water source become more obvious.
