The Maharashtra State Nurses' Association has called for a day-long strike today and Thursday to accept their demands instead of just calling them a covid warrior. The nurses have also warned of indefinite agitation if the demands are not met. Patients are likely to be affected by the strike called by nurses during covid pandemic.

For the last two days, the nurses had gone on strike for two hours in the morning for various demands. But even after that, as the state government did not take notice, the nurses have now taken an aggressive stance and called a two-day strike.

The nurses have gone on strike demanding permanent recruitment of nurses in the health department, risk allowance like the Center, 7 days leave and three days quarantine  leave during covid period, resumption of weekly leave which was closed during Corona period.

375 nurses from JJ Hospital in Mumbai have called a strike. In addition, 175 nurses from St. George's Hospital and 100 nurses from GT Hospital have joined the agitation. Therefore, there is a lot of confusion in the hospital today. Even after the agitation, the demands were not met and the nurses have warned of an indefinite strike.
