The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange' alert in Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane districts of Maharashtra for the next four days. "On Wednesday, extremely heavy rainfall in one or two areas, and heavy to very heavy rainfall in the remaining . Monsoon has covered the entire Maharashtra including Vidarbha. In the coming days, Koukan is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, said a Scientist, IMD Mumbai.

Most of the districts are in the orange zone; Raigad and Ratnagiri in red zone, they are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall in the coming days, said Shubhangi Bhute, Scientist, IMD Mumbai. 

Mumbai local train services were suspended between some stations as a precautionary measure due to heavy rains on Wednesday.
