Maharashtra: A tragic accident occurred in Chhattrapati Sambhajinagar were a auto-rickshaw carrying passengers collided with a tempo parked on the road. This accident took place on Tuesday morning around 1:45 AM. The auto-rickshaw driver, Rais Hasim Sheikh, and a female passenger, Rukmini Yenge , died on the spot. Two other female passengers were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at Ghati Hospital.
At 1:55 AM, Akash Mali reported an accident to fire control. A Padampura fire station team responded immediately and found auto-rickshaw driver Rais Sheikh trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters used rescue tools to extricate Sheikh and transported him to Ghati Hospital.
Rais Sheikh and Rukmini Yenge were declared dead at Ghati Hospital following an incident in Waluj MIDC and Ranjangaon, which has caused widespread sorrow. Sheetal More (24) and Payal Varde (19), both residents of Ranjangaon, sustained critical injuries and are receiving intensive care.
A rescue operation was conducted by a team led by Chief Fire Officer Ashok Khandekar, including Deputy Officer Vijay Rathod, Duty Officers Deepraj Gangawane and Sangram More, Prasad Shinde, Mahendra Khotkar, Chhatrapati Kekan, Jagdish Gaikwad, Amitabh Karad, and driver Chandrasen Gite.
