Maharashtra Road Accident News: Four people, including a young child, were killed and eight others injured after a vehicle carrying devotees collided head-on with a truck on the Pandharpur–Mangalwedha road in Maharashtra’s Solapur district on Monday, January 26, 2026.  The accident occurred at Sharadnagar when a cruiser (MH-13 BN 7687) carrying devotees from Dombivli and Thane and a truck (MH-46 BU 6651) were involved in a head-on collision. Three women and a child died on the spot, while eight others sustained serious injuries.

The devotees were returning after visiting religious sites at Gangapur, Akkalkot and Pandharpur. After completing darshan at the Vitthal temple in Pandharpur on Monday morning, they had begun their return journey when the crash took place.

The impact was severe, with the driver’s side of the cruiser badly damaged. Those seated on that side were killed instantly.

On receiving information, police and traffic personnel rushed to the scene. The injured were taken by ambulance to private and rural hospitals in Mangalwedha. One injured person was later shifted to a private hospital in Solapur for further treatment. The condition of six to seven injured persons is reported to be critical.
