A shocking incident unfolded in Rajgurunagar city near Pune, where a 20-year-old woman was brutally attacked with a knife by a man after she refused to marry him. In a dramatic turn of events, the accused then stabbed himself, leaving both critically injured. The incident occurred on March 21.

The victim lived with her mother and sister at Ganesh Residency in Padalwadi (Taluka Khed), near Rajgurunagar city. The accused, identified as Shubham Anil Khandge (28), a resident of Pimpalgaon Vani, Taluka Junnar, was a distant relative of the victim's family.

On the morning of March 21, Khandge entered the bathroom where the girl was and forcefully pressured her to marry him. When she refused, he became enraged and grabbed an iron knife from the kitchen, stabbing her multiple times in the stomach and neck.

Hearing the commotion, the victim’s mother rushed to intervene, but she was also attacked with the knife. Following the assault, Shubham Khandge turned the knife on himself, stabbing his own neck and sustaining serious injuries.

Legal Action Against the Accused

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately arrived at the scene. The case is currently under investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Pradeep Sisode. Serious charges have been filed against the accused, and the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
