A fight broke out between a husband and wife over a dispute about drinking alcohol. In a fit of rage, the husband beat his wife with a stick, and she died. The incident took place on the midnight of the 11th. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning. On Thursday morning, the police arrested the accused husband and produced him before the court, which remanded him in police custody till March 26.

According to police sources, the name of the deceased woman is Jamuna Murale, and the accused is Ratan Murale, her husband. The couple from Katunga village, 35 km from Dharani taluka, were living in a farm acquired by the plantation on Damjipura road on March 11. Their son, Rupesh, had come there with his wife. Ratan and Jamuna drank as usual, but when Jamuna demanded more alcohol, Ratan argued. After consolation, the four of them ate non-vegetarian food together. After that, Rupesh returned to the village with his wife.

On Wednesday morning, when Rupesh went to the field, he asked his father where his mother was. At that time, his father replied that his mother had gone to the village. Rupesh searched the village but could not find his mother. After that, he went back to the field and asked his father, Ratan, who told him that she was in the village. Tired of searching, Rupesh fell asleep. In the evening, he got information that his mother, Jamuna's, body was lying on the side of the road from Kutanga to Damjipura. She had injuries on her body, and blood was flowing from her body. Ratan only replied that she had drunk more alcohol. Rupesh realized that his father had killed his mother after a fight with her at night.

Rupesh informed the police about the above information through the sarpanch and police patil. On Wednesday evening, the police conducted a panchnama and brought the body to the upazila hospital in Dharani. A case was registered on Rupesh's complaint, and the accused, Ratan, was arrested on Thursday morning. The police are currently investigating the case.
