A shocking case has emerged from Kavathe Mahankal in Sangli district, where a woman and her son allegedly murdered her husband. Police said the accused planned the crime to escape mounting debt and claim his insurance money. The woman also took the help of her son’s friend to execute the plan.

The victim has been identified as Baburao Patil. Police have arrested his wife, Vanita Patil, their son, Tejas Patil, and Tejas’ friend, Bhimrao Hulwan. Initially, they tried to make the death look like an accident. However, further investigation exposed the conspiracy.

According to police, Baburao Patil was struggling with heavy debts, and creditors were pressuring him for repayment. He had multiple insurance policies, and his wife allegedly plotted to kill him to claim the money. The accused struck his head against a road divider to make it appear as an accident. Police first registered it as an accidental death. However, they grew suspicious and took Tejas Patil into custody for questioning.

During interrogation, Tejas revealed the involvement of his mother and friend. After being arrested, all three confessed to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
