Heatwave conditions and rainfall continue across several districts of Maharashtra in March 2026. While temperatures have crossed 40 degrees Celsius in some districts, unseasonal rain has lashed parts of the state, leaving people confused due to rapidly changing weather conditions.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai has predicted dry weather for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar today. Although no heatwave has been officially forecast, Google Weather has issued a severe heat alert, with temperatures expected to reach up to 37 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for East Vidarbha, Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. In the rest of the state, partly cloudy conditions are expected along with rising temperatures. Meanwhile, rainy conditions are likely to persist in Konkan over the next few days, according to the weather department.

A yellow alert remains in place for Konkan, as well as for Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts in East Vidarbha.

The state continues to experience different weather conditions, with rainfall in some areas and intense heat in others. On Friday, temperatures crossed 41 degrees Celsius in Akola and Amravati, while Parbhani, Brahmapuri, Wardha and Yavatmal recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Jalgaon, Solapur, Chandrapur and Washim recorded temperatures above 39 degrees Celsius and Niphad recorded a low of 16.1 degrees Celsius.
