The maximum temperature in Marathwada and parts of Madhya Maharashtra dropped by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. However, heatwave conditions continue to persist in Vidarbha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in many parts of South Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha districts over the next one to two days, with conditions becoming favourable for showers.

According to IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds with a speed of 30 40 kmph at isolated places Kolhapur, Ghats of Kolapur, Sangli, Sholapur, Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv, Chandrapur, Wardha and Yavatmal.

Akola recorded the highest temperature in the state at 42.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Meanwhile, districts like Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahilyanagar were hit by hailstorms and rainfall. Though the low-pressure system over the west-central Bay of Bengal has weakened, another low-pressure belt is active from western Rajasthan to northern Vidarbha. The rising temperatures have also increased evaporation, further supporting chances of rainfall in scattered areas.

Maximum temperatures slightly decreased in Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, and Nashik. However, Solapur continues to sizzle with temperatures above 40°C. Over the next two days, rain is likely in Nandurbar, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, and Beed districts.

In Chopda taluka of Jalgaon, thundershowers and hailstorms were reported at around 2 p.m. on Sunday, following similar conditions in Raver. The intense rain and hail damaged wheat, banana, and gram crops. In Dhanora (Chopda), an hour-long spell of rain was observed around 1:30 p.m., with heavy rain lasting for 12 minutes.

For the second consecutive day, hailstorms damaged grape, wheat, and summer onion crops in three talukas in Nashik—Yeola, Niphad, and Chandwad. Unseasonal rainfall over the last two days has affected North Maharashtra, particularly parts of Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahilyanagar, resulting in considerable crop losses. Dhamangaon Awari and surrounding areas in Akole taluka of Ahilyanagar experienced an hour-long spell of unseasonal rain accompanied by strong winds on Sunday afternoon.
