The Mumbai Metropolitan Region has suffered a major power outage causing inconvenience to lakhs of citizens and commuters on Monday. The power cuts were witnessed in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai and other parts of the region. Sources said it was due to a technical problem in the supply. Residents of Kurla, Ghatkopar, Chembur, Andheri, Juhu, Chandivali, Vashi Malad confirmed that there is currently no power supply at their homes.

The BEST Electric Supply, on its official Twitter handle, informed that the power outage is due to the failure of TATA's incoming electric supply. Reports suggest that traffic signals on the roads are also not working. Western Railway local trains have been shut between Churchgate to Vasai railway station and Mumbai suburban trains on Central Railway have also been stopped.
