Mansukh Hiren, owner of the Scorpio car parked with explosives outside the Ambani's home was found dead in Thane. Hiren's family expressed doubts about his death. His family had decided to accept his body only after receiving the autopsy report. Finally, the Thane police has received Hiren's autopsy report .

Mansukh Hiren's post mortem was carried out at Thane Municipal Corporation's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital. According to the report, Hiren died due to drowning. Hiren's viscera will be sent to a forensic lab for further investigation. Hiren's family took his body into custody after receiving autopsy report, police said.

In his statement to the Mumbai Police, Mansukh Hiren had claimed that his car had not been in use for over a year and that he recently drove the vehicle because he wanted to sell it. Hiren had said to police officials that his car broke down and he decided to park it on the Mulund-Airoli Link Road on February 16. When he returned to the spot the next day, the vehicle had been stolen.The Maharashtra government on Friday handed over the investigation of bomb scare outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia last week to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
