In the 2026–2027 budget of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), a target has been set to construct a total of 13,012 housing units through its regional boards in Mumbai, Pune, Konkan, Nashik, Amravati, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Nagpur. A provision of ₹10,585.12 crore has been allocated for construction costs in the budget. MHADA has stated that these new housing schemes will make it easier for citizens across the state to access affordable homes.
The revised budget for the financial year 2025–2026 and the budget for 2026–2027 were presented before the authority. The revised budget for 2025–2026 stands at ₹12,399.22 crore, while the budget for 2026–2027 amounts to ₹17,430.73 crore, both of which have received approval from the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority.
Region-wise housing and allocation:
Mumbai: 2,538 houses – ₹6,747.42 crore
Konkan: 5,112 houses – ₹1,497.64 crore
Pune: 665 houses – ₹664.00 crore
Nagpur: 2,008 houses – ₹1,206.19 crore
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: 1,483 houses – ₹258.32 crore
Nashik: 237 houses – ₹151.57 crore
Amravati: 969 houses – ₹59.98 crore
Additionally, ₹2,711.95 crore has been allocated in the budget for works undertaken by the Mumbai Slum Improvement Board through MLA funds and government funding. Furthermore, ₹661.73 crore has been earmarked under the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board for the repair of cessed buildings, as well as for the maintenance and repair of PMGP schemes, transit camps, and reconstructed buildings.
